Have a question about dealing with a nosy neighbor? Ask Dear Abby. Wanna know if alkaline batteries will make a vibrator explode? Dan Savage is your go-to guy. For more than 15 years, the author and journalist has answered sex questions in his syndicated column, Savage Love.

In 2007, he took his wit and wisdom to the web with Savage Lovecast, a weekly podcast (available at The Stranger's website or on iTunes) that’s as entertaining as it is informative. In a soothing tone, Savage dispenses snappy straight-talk to carnally curious callers. How does one prep for um, backdoor entry, a hetero female wonders. “Eat right, anal douche if you must, but listen to your body… when you feel like this might not be the time… do something else. Go to a movie,” Savage says. To a teen in chronic back pain (due to bending to perform a certain sex act on himself), the guru advises, “Take a yoga class.”

Of course, the callers are hilarious on their own. Our favorite was the gentleman who claimed there’s a club in Tokyo where women eat bananas and defecate on stage as “men sitting around the circle have a tiny little silver spoon and they partake of the crapola.” The incredulous host snapped back, “I can’t even speak to your question it’s so revolting.” We’re often left speechless, too – from laughing til it hurts.
